Licorice

Licorice 🍬
The Quiet Troublemaker · One of the Orchard Crew

Every autumn, on the first cold night after the last apples are picked, a little crew of kitties wanders out from between the orchard rows. Nobody knows exactly where they come from. They just appear in the fallen leaves, six of them, warm and sleepy, waiting for someone to carry them home.

Licorice never starts the trouble. She watches it. While Widget and Tootsie tumble into the cider barrel, Licorice sits on the fence post with her tail wrapped neatly around her paws, taking in every detail with great interest. She knows exactly which plan will work and which one will end with everyone covered in apple mush. She just doesn't always say so.

And somehow, when the dust settles, Licorice is the one who gets the credit. Nobody can ever quite figure out how. She's quiet, clever, and quietly proud of it, and the little white bow at her neck is always perfectly straight, no matter how much chaos happened around her.

Licorice is for the observers, the thinkers, and the ones who notice everything.
